Remove xp completly using win7....?

First thank all of you for responding...and you all are making me confused...i think the easy method is of "bare foot kid"...he says to install the 7 once again to c drive and then format the existing win7 ...but my problem is i dont have the 7 cd ..i installed it from a pen drive...so can i again install the seven to c-drive using my pen drive..and if i install the the seven again to c..will the newly installed 7 overwrite the existing xp on c drive or it will be accompanied along the xp making me leave with 3 os's....?

Here's what I would do and I feel it would be the easiest way forward.

I would use the information contained in this tutorial at the link below to reinstall Windows 7 to the XP partition after you have made back-ups of the data you need to save from the the XP partition.

That will get Windows 7 on a Primary partition at the front of the Hard Disk Drive and do away with XP at the same time, you can deal with the "old" Windows 7 later after you have the "new" Windows 7 running.

How to Do a Clean Installation with Windows 7

Just be sure to select the XP partition to do the install to durring the installation process as outlined in step #7 of the tutorial and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Yes, you can use your pen drive.

Ok experts ...another thing is that i dont need any back up from xp partition..is it necessary to take any file as back up..? Then this is what i do ..
i open my windows 7(or should i do it with xp) installed in e drive and then plug in the pendrive containing win7 installer file..i install the 7 again to the c drive containing the xp and the new win7 takes over the xp removing it...? Then i have to format the old win7 in e drive...! Is that it...? And will my other drives data remaini unharmed...?

Ok...i was not able to delete the partiton and make it one..so i installed new 7 to c..now how do i remove my old win7 in e drive..so that i get only one during boot..

Please guys this is my last question..how do i remove my old win7 in e drive safetly..just format it(using windows option or partition wizard) so that i can use the space...

Here you go, start with this to remove it from the boot menu, make sure you are in the new 7 and it is set as default.

You can go back later and wipe that partition.
