    deleting 2 partion in win7

hi everyone , i just need your help here,

i have my hdd divided into 3 partition (c,d,e) . xp is installed on (c) , windows 7 on (D) , and (e) for my data.

i am plaining to format and install windows7 only , so i need to delete my (c) and (D) and merge these 2 together to become a new partition (c) without the need to delete and format my partition (e)..

is it possible to do this when installing windows7 , or i need a special software for that....

    thank you in advance ...

YOu shoulld be able to do that without a problem. Just delete partitions C and D. Then you will see a large section called Unallocated Space. Create a new partition or you could just tell the installer to install windows in the unallocated space and the partition will be created automatically.

Follow the illustrated steps in this tutorial to boot the installer, choose Custom install, then drive options to delete C and D, then create and format a partition there: Clean Install Windows 7

As long as you don't touch your data partition, the data should remain intact. But it's still best to always back it up to external, DVD, another computer on your network, or up to 14gb on Skydrive with each Windows Live ID.
