Unable to make Windows 7 bootable DVD

Well I'm new over here...

So here is what I did:

I 've Windows 7 basically extracted files. I have tired to put it on a dvd and burn it, burning process was fairly easy I thought I've a bootable DVD now.

Then I tired it in a desktop computer and set to boot from CD.

To my disappointment it did not boot from CD. But when when normally I put it in DVD and and run from Desktop it works pretty well but then there is another problem it has no options as when the normally windows DVD has when they are bootable. So installation works it simply replaced the older files with new one and a folder is created for older files.

What i want is bootable DVD so I can use it to format and Install fresh copy.

So I need help! how can I put files on dvd using any specific software and how do I burn it so it becomes a bootable DVD. Thanks!!

PS. currently i have pre-installed roxio on my dell studio laptop.

Where did you get Windows 7? How do you plan to activate it?

You need an intact valid ISO file, burned to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed with Verify.

My friend's dvd I copied files from it to my hard drive, put them into a folder and later I has put them on DVD and burned it. Works but not bootable.

So only ISO File being burned will be a bootable?
Is there anyway I can covert all these files into one ISO Intact File and then burn it using ImgBurn or xilisoft ISO burner.

Try this tool to compile the extracted DVD files into a bootable ISO: Boot to CD/DVD

This will only work if you have the seven extracted Windows 7 install folders intact and uncorrupted.

Let us know if this doesn't work for you as there are other methods.
