W7 Ulitmate 64 bit download failure.

I don't know if there's a thread on this, but I tried to load the above and almost
at the end, a mgs popped up stating a file might be bad and installation was
stopped. For the heck of it, I tried the 32 bit disc and it loaded up fine save
for the COA going in and that's no bid deal.

Has anyone had any issues with loading the 64 bit version ? I'm doing a
custom install on a formatted drive. Thanks for any hints, etc..

Ummm. It just dawned on me that this Acer 5315 notebook may not
have the goodies to allow 64 bit. I don't know..I'm using a new WD
Caviar Black drive, so that wouldn't be it. I might have to try loading
using my desktop and dvd to this drive.

Anyway, any other info from you folks is most appreciated.

Thank you for replying. I for the heck of it, tried to do a download this morning
and sure enough it took this time. I don't know what happened, etc, but I
wonder if loading the 32 bit first and THEN the 64 helped even though it was
    on a reformatted drive ?

Well anyway it's turned out to be a happy day so far..

Always run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

There was likely a problem with the DVD being read.

^ oh that's good advice. I will do so in the future. Thank you.
I guess I should say I updated the old Celeron 530 M chip to
a Core 2 Duo T8100, so maybe things are getting used to each
other. I'm running 2 gigs of 5300 as well. All new, so maybe
it'll take a bit of time to get things right.

It's all good and this is one of the very best forums for W7
    help.
