    If I buy Windows 7 ?

Can anyone advise me if this is possible (and legit) ?

My desktop has Vista Home Premium installed (retail upgrade version) and I'm thinking of getting Windows 7 to replace it, my laptop has XP (pre-installed) on it and I'd like to transfer Vista over to that although Vista is currently activated on the desktop. Can I do that ?

Yes, since you have the retail version you can move it from one computer to another. You just cannot technically run and activate it on more than 1 computer at a time.

I don't see why not, if you own it by all means install.

Phew, have just ordered Win7 from PC World for £44.99 when the email notification flashed om my screen, I thought "knowing my luck, I'm about to find out that I can't install as I want to".
