    Help with dual boot

    Hi All
I needed to upgrade my old seagate 250gb hard drive with W7 on it, so I installed a new 500gb hdd and then installed a fresh copy of W7 on it.

My problem is I can't boot unless the old drive stays connected,if I disconnect it I get a message 'file missing NTLDR please restart'.

If I leave it connected I can boot into either copy of W7.

I would like to be able to remove the old hdd, I will appreciate any assistance.

    TIA

You needed to unplug the old HD before installing Win7 on the new one.

In Disk Management, mark new Win7 installation Active, shut down, unplug old HD.

Boot the Win7 DVD Repair console to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until it writes the System boot files to Win7 and it starts up.

If this fails, plug back in the old HD and post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu.
