| | The most common cause of that specific error is the installation media. Where did you obtain the Windows 7 installation DVD ... did you download and burn an image, download an upgrade from Microsoft, or was it bought from a retail store ? The only way to upgrade from XP to Win 7 is to format the Hard Drive and then install Win 7.
