    Need help with installation!

Here goes. Bought new "kit" computer from Tiger Direct. Everything went together
ok, but now when I try to install Windows 7, I don't get an error, but I do get a message that says that all of the required files are not available and Windows cannot be installed. Not sure what to do. I've got windows 7 or vista I can install and after trying both, no luck. Any help would really be appreciated!

Was Win7 included in this kit? If not where did you get it?

If you burned the DVD, confirm ISO and burn another using ImgBurn at 4x speed with Verify.

Or write to flash stick using this tool with Win7 in dropdown: Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3 | USB Pen Drive Linux then boot under HD's or USB.

If you wont to reuse the USB Pendrive, use Method two in this tutorial:
USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

Try installing with only 2gb of ram.

    Clean the HD.

Can you get to the window where you can choose custom install during installation?

I can get to the custom installation page. When I click that, it begins installation and when it gets to "expanding files," that's where it hangs up and tells me that required files aren't available.

I saw in another post that Windows 7 can't be installed without a previous version already being on the HD. Is this true?

The copy of Windows 7 did not come with the system. My son burned it for me.

Where did your son buy the ISO?

Delete the partition you are using for windows 7 in custom install then recreate it in the empty space then continue installation to the new partition, and see if that fixes your problems.
