Trouble installing Windows 7
I've recently built a new computer with these components:
Intel Core i5 25000K 3.3Ghz Box Socket 1155
Zotac Geforce GTX470 - Asus Geforce GTX470
MSI P67A-GD65 83
Hard drive: Samsung 1Tb SATA II HD103SJ
DVD recorder LG GH22NS50 DVD-SATA 22X
FSP Aurum GOLD 700W
G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 2133
After putting it all together, I used a windows 7 installation DVD to try and install it with no avail. After reading several solutions to the problem I had I found this one:
Method 2: From a Windows install/repair disc
Boot into the install/repair disc and wait for it to load
Choose “Repair my computer”
Select “Command Prompt”
Type diskpart and press enter.
Enter list disk and note the number of the disk you want to install on.
Enter select disk n n is the number of the disk.
Enter list partition and note the number of the partition you want to install on.
Enter select partition n n is the number of the partition.
Enter active
You can now close the command prompt and re-attempt installation.
After I did this, every time I boot up the computer the windows logo screen is followed by a blank one with a cursor. I have tried safe mode but it didn't work.
Does anybody know how to fix this? It really frutrates me that by trying to solve a problem I created an entirely different one...
By the way, I am rather unskilled with computers, so don't rule out any solution, as simple as it would seem.
