Clean Install never asked me for username/pass/product key etc..

Hey. Out of all of my computer experience i have never heard of or seen this problem.

I downloaded windows upgrade advisor on my laptop and ran it. It said that I was able to run windows 7. So i installed it using usb because my laptop only has a cd drive, not a dvd drive. After installing it and it prompted me that it was going to restart and it did but when it came on again, it skipped all of the setup process such as entering username, computer name, password, my preferences for updates, and product key. it went straight to a screen asking me for a username and password......... i never created one so it's kind of difficult to get past that screen. haha.

i never altered installation files or anything I just used diskpart to set up the usb drive and then just transfered the files diectly from the windows dvd to the usb using another computer. =\

Any help would be greatly appreciated. =P

Thats not a regular win7 disk. Its a modded one, probably with an answer file (autounattend.xml) that did all that work for you. Even in 3rd party tools like RT7lite theres an unattend option that automates steps like user creation, product key and regional settings.

So i should look for that file within the setup files? does it contain the user and pass that was entered for me?

By all means do. I have no way of knowing whether its there or not since I didnt create the disk. But lemme tell you, neither regular win7 disks nor OEM ones are set up that way, it would be moronic to expect the user to guess the username etc. or rummage through disk contents.

Only you know where you acquired that disk from, so contact those persons and ask them. Obviously you have not paid for a win7 license because such "magical" disks are never "sold".
