I installed Ubuntu alongside Windows 7 and unmounted a drive in the partition manager there and when i restarted my PC i am only able to access my recovery partition only on which my PC boots nd only cmd is available...
I used A few commands in cmd abit 'mountvol' nd it is displaying 3 of my volumes.
Any help please? I dont want to loose my data at any cost... =(

No luck, only 1 drive appear here and when clicked it says to format...
I used the Ubuntu to recover the data but only C drive the windows drive is accesible, Other drive with the data doesn mount.
Plus i dont want to loose my windows installation, it came with the laptop :/

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

If you choose to go this way, I would suggest you completely wipe secure erase the entire Hard Disk Drive to over-write the old Linux code, that code, especially the Grub loader is a real issue sometime to overcome and a wipe may save you some time in the long-run.
Would you like to try repair it now, or have you gone on to run Recovery or reinstall?
If you want to attempt repairs and you don't have the Win7 installation DVD, you'll need to make a Win7 Repair CD in the Backup center on any Win7 machine of the same bit version.
Boot the DVD Repair console or Repair CD, see if it finds an installation to Repair. Next click through to System Recovery Options list, choose Startup Repair, run repeatedly.
Report back results and any error messages received verbatim.

I ran the startup repair a couple time, almost 3 times, once it said to restart and check, twice it said it could not be repaired. Tests were of arnd 30 to 45 min
Earlier i wasnt able to access when i used to do C:/ but now it becomes accessible in cmd. but it does not list any directories or files, shows free space.
I think there is some mount issues i have to do with to make the partition accessed by Windows.
I did this tutorial to change the Boot in cmd
- bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
- c:
- cd boot
- attrib bcd -s -h -r
- ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
- bootrec /RebuildBcd
Its showing \Boot\BCD doesn exist

If remounting fails (why did you dismount the drive anyway?) then boot free Partition Wizard bootable CD
use Partition Recovery Wizard to scan for and recover the lost partitions.
Mark Win7 partition Active.
Next click on HD to highlight, then from Disk tab select Rebuild MBR, Apply steps.
If this fails to start Win7, run 3 Startup Repairs from Repair CD again.
Unfortunately Linux on the same HD can make Win7 irreparable. We see it all the time here.
