Cannot get WinPE network drivers to load
I have created a WinPE disk from the Windows 7 Automated Installation Kit to automate installation of a 64 bit version of Windows. I used the amd64 files.
During its creation process I used DSIM to inject the Windows 7 network card drivers for a Dell Optiplex 380 into the Wim image. There were two drivers, b57nd60x.inf and k57nd60x.inf, both seemed to go in ok and the resulting wim file was 5mb larger.
I also copied all the drivers files manually into a drivers folder on the newly created WinPE disk
When I use the disk, everything seems to work ok, except for the network part. I can capture images to a local USB drive, but I cannot get a network connection. IPCONFIG shows no ip address. I have tried connecting manually by using drvload <filename>.inf and then NETCFG – WINPE to install the network stack, and I have tried running Wpeutil InitializeNetwork.
Both attempts seemed to do something successfully and there were no error messages, but still no network connection or DHCP response.
Am I missing some process to initialize the drivers?
