Trouble Installing Windows 7 ( 32 & 64bit )
Hi, I've been searching for an answer to a problem I am having for the past few days, but I have had no luck. D: I thought maybe someone here could help me out.
My Problem: I cannot load Windows 7 on my computer. The thing is that I have been successful in the past and for a long time the x64bit version has worked. Until recently when I had a power cord failure ( sparks shot at me, it was horrifying ), Windows 7 was running just fine, but when I replaced the cord, the startup logo appeared but refused to actually start.
An additional piece of information is that the animation for the logo is extremely fast and then flickers in place.
My setup: M3A78-EM Asus motherboard, GeForce 9500 GT video card, x2- 2g sticks of RAM. I'm also using a new HP LCD monitor and an old Phillips LCD monitor.
What I've tried so far:
-Multiple Operating system installations ( I get the same flickering on the windows logo, as well as the stuck at Completing installation problem )
-Removing all but 2g of RAM
-removing video card and using the motherboard for monitor ( as well as using only 1 monitor, both of which were tested )
-using only a SP2 keyboard ( with no other USB devices )
-Installing Windows XP ( installs just fine )
-Using burnt and bought Windows 7 disks
-Mktorn's solution found Windows 7 Freezes at "Completing Installation" but to no avail
The strangest thing is that I have actually had a problem like this before, and easily solved it by popping a stick of RAM out and putting it back in once I could startup ( this may help those that haven't tried it yet ), but it did not work this time.
With the given information, can anyone take a guess at what my problem could be?
Thanks in advance
