    Win 7 update/repair shortcuts

    Hi.
Quick info. I did a Win 7 repair upgrade re-installation to fix a few issues like the resource monitor, network icon and time date clock not showing up. Its working fine now.

Anyways, i was wondering if it is safe to delete some of the leftover folders marked with a shortcut icon that give you a access denied warning when you try to open them.
For example, I have now have 2 of these folders:
My Documents (New with all my files from old Win 7)
My Documents (labeled with a shortcut icon and access denied message)

Since i have all my software, settings, profiles and files from before i would like to clean up my drive.
BTW, what is the purpose for the old shortcut files?

    Hello illicious, :)

You don't want to delete the folders with the shortcut arrows. These are linked system folders for backward compatibility.

If you like, you can check the Hide protected operating system files box in Folder Options to no longer see these protected OS files.

Thank you so much. Will hide them instead.
