I tried f11 but unfortunately laptop failed to enter recovery mode and the following messages appeared
"windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause."

If you only have the HP/Compaq Recovery Disks for Home P x64,you can use Anytime Grade.

If you have the Windows 7 Upgrade Disk, you clean install following this tutorial:

You'll need to locate a Win7 Pro installer to clean reinstall with the Pro Product Key, following these steps to get a perfect clean reinstall of factory OEM: Reinstalling Windows 7

Did you download the Pro installer ISO using the link zigzag gave you above? If so burn it to DVD or write to flash stick using this tool: Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool
