dreaded bootmgr missing error ~ i needs help!hey

hi everyone, this is my last attempt @ trying to fix this before my head explodes. here's my situation:

Im trying to do a FRESH install of win7 pro 64bit onto a BRAND NEW wd 1tb harddrive I recently purchased, my last one pooped out on me. so the very first attempt to boot up and install with my dvd (legit copy from windows) I get this error BOOTMGR NOT FOUND, ctr alt del to restart, this is right after the BIOS access page, windows doesn't even begin to load.

after a few attempts of messing with stuff I looked it up on many different forums, and found MANY different ways to try and solve this. after attempting all of them, I still get the error. the one time I do get past the error to attempt a startup repair, it saidsomething along the lines of "windows cannot repair your problem", so I did the command prompt bootlegbootrep thing, it said it was a success, but the next bootup I got the BOOTMGR Error again. I tried copying the cd to a memory stick and trying it that way, same deal. I've tried unplugging/replugging sata cords and doing all I can to fix this.

its a long read but I neeed some help! who out there can put in their 2 cents? I appreciate any comments, tyvm!

I would Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

Have you checked to see if the motherboard bios recognizes the hard drive? It should appear in a list of the available drives somewhere in the bios. What kind of interface does the drive use, IDE, Sata II, Sata III, etc? The storage controller may not be set in the right mode, the motherboard port may have gone bad, etc.

The error message only means the empty HD is trying to boot.

You are not booting the DVD. Reboot and try tapping the Asus F8 one-time BIOS Boot menu key given on first screen, then select DVD drive. You should get a prompt to "Press any key to boot DVD." If not, there is something wrong with your DVD drive or the DVD. Did you burn it yourself? If so, burn another using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

You cannot copy DVD to flash stick - it must be written by an app for that purpose. Next try writing to stick using Universal USB Installer with Win7 in dropdown menu. Boot using F8 key under USB, Removable or HD's.

Once you boot the installer follow these illustrated steps: Clean Install Windows 7

first, yes the hdd is recognized, aswell as the dvd drive and the usb, when connected.
secondly, yes I did boot with the dvd drive in first priority, aswell when using usb it was first. either got disc read error or bootmgr error every time.
third and finally, I was using the dvd drive as first priority, tried many times. the dvd is a genuine copy FROM microsoft. I have not tried burning another copy yet, but I have alcohol on another pc I can use to burn the image onto another dvd. would that be my best bet now? I feel like that, or burning it onto a usb drive like you mentioned will be my last bet.

edit~~im not sure which interface is being used, its a p8p67 le mobo so ill check what it uses.

Do you get the prompt to "Press Any key to boot DVD?" If not it is NOT booting DVD.

I would next write the DVD to flash stick using UltraISO trial version: On File tab Open DVD, on Bootable tab Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot stick under USB, REmovable or HD's.

What happens then?

it doesn't even get far enough to get6 to the press any key message, right after BIOS screen it goes straight to bootmgr error

The DVD is not booting. Try cleaning/changing DVD drive or flash stick install.

okay, i burned a new dvd and got through to the installation screen!!! however, both my partions "cannot install windows".. it says because my selected discs have MBR partition tables, on EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT discs.

what's going on now?
