May be best to take back to Retailer.
The alacrity with which the OP went ahead and purchased/claimed to have purchased genuine windows tells a different story, lol.

I was waiting for "I can't decipher the Product Key, it's badly worn."

10.1" windows Tablet. 160GB ATA hard drive, 1.66 GHz N455 INTEL ATOM PROCESSOR, 3G MODULE, 3 X USB PORT, HDMI PORT, 3G MODULE, 2 X Touch screen, SD card slot, being sold for £200 - £280 on ebay, Amazon and other various uk local outlets, also a 320GB model for a few pounds more. Nice machine, bit on the heavy side but no problems apart from the dubious OS. think they are being sourced from Hong Kong/mainland China.

That's not the case. Windows 7 iso images are available for Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate. I've listed all available download links on my website:

I was referring to the student edition downloads which were available only in home premium and pro flavours.
