How can a move a profile to a new computer after a crash ?

    Hello.

i just had my computer hit by thunder but the HD are still readable. so i bought a new one installed all the apps i had on the previous one. now, i would like to recover my profile as it took my weeks to do it and keep every configuration of the different emails etc ... at first i was thinking to copy paste the folder as this was working fine under windows xp, but i experienced some bad reaction while doing this. is there a way to do this without losing the previous config ?

    thanks for your help

What parts of your profile are important?

Docs/Music/Pics etc can just be copied over to their respective folders

What email app where you using?

well, all the files are ok.

it's the configuration self wich i'm missing.

the emails account where used in outlook 2010, incredimail and eudora. and there i'm not able to recover the details.

also all the autosaved passwords from ie (firefox i found out)

what i mean, in the past, you could go into doc & settings copy an entire profile, move it to another computer (after a first login of course) and everyhting was kept as on your previous computer. is there a way to do this on win7 after ?
