install Windows 7 on different partition than the boot

Is there a way to install Windows 7 in a different folder than the default \Windows and on a different partition than the boot. For example, I have XP installed on my Laptop that has 3 partitions C:, D:, E:. C: is my boot partition and D: is where I have XP install in directory D:\OS\WINXP and E: where applications are installed and data is store.

I like to install Windows 7 and have C: as the boot drive and install it on D: in the sub directory D:\OS\Windows or D:\OS\Win7. is there a way and if there is can someone tell me how to do it. Please Help

I have read all of this and it does not tell me how to install Windows 7 in a different subdirectory other than the default name of \Windows. I want to call my Windows 7 install directory \WIN7U and put it on the my drive D:. for example D:\OS\WIN7U. Everything that I have read is saying that the \windows can nolonger be change. Is this also true to where I can relocate where I can install the OS.
