Installing Windows 7 on a partition in Windows Vista Problem

Hi,

I have installed Windows 7 on a partition created in Windows Vista. The problem is that now the computer will only boot to the System Recovery Oprions tool. I have tried using the Startup Repair tool. It tells me to disconnect any newly connected devices. However there are not any that have been added. It tells me this when trying to repair beth 7 and Vista.

Thank you,

Do you mean the Dell Recovery Partition?

I tried it just asks me to unhook any new hardware. But I have not hooked any up. And please believe me, I know that Dell makes Alienware. This is on a different machine that is an eMachine...lol. I think it may have something to do with the boot files. Doesent Windows 7 use a new type of boot manager, different from previous versions?

Win XP & back Yes.

Boot up using the Startup Repair CD or Windows 7 DVD. (not the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disk) If you have a Netbook, you will need a CD/DVD drive.
NOTE: Make sure no USB drives are plugged in.
Do not use a USB Pendrive for Startup Repair.

Try this:
Do a Strartup Repair:
Startup Repair
Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

This did not work. I just deleted the partition, modified the boot file, and went back to Vista .
