How many times can you install windows 7?

    How many times can you install windows 7?


    wen you buy windows 7 can you install it just like xp or 3 times? (i heard you can only install windows 7 3 times is this true?

    There is no limit to re-installs as far as Im aware, other than it can not be activated on more than 1 PC at a time.
    Unless its OEM, in which case it can only be re-installed on the same machine.


    You may need to call MS to get activated if you re-install/activate excessively though.
    But every few months shouldn't pose a problem.

    i want to get Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64BIT Operating System Software - OEM DVD, English at TigerDirect.com but i do not know if this can be installed on more then one computer
    and if i install this on one computer and use the key to activate on that computer can i use that key to activate it as many times i want with that computer?
    and how many computers can get activated with that key?

    If you need more than 1 license, you may want to look into the family pack. It allows for 3.
    so Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64BIT Operating System Software - OEM DVD, English at TigerDirect.com has only 1 license key? if you get an another computer and want to install and activate windows 7 on that one can you deactivate the key and activate it on the new one you got?
