    format c drive


    hello
    i'm planning to do a clean install
    when i format my C:\ drive in the install process, do my bios settings stay the same?

    Hello Martin,

    Yes, the BIOS settings will stay the same since they are stored on a chip on your motherboard instead of the HDD. :)

    Clean Install - Windows 8

    Ok thanks Shawn.

    One more question: is it going to ask me what kind of format I want (active, primary, etc...) and what do I choose? Fat32 or NTFS?

    No, it will automatically install as NTFS on the selected partition. It's going to basically be the exact same way that you installed Windows 7. The tutorial link in my post above will give you more details on the Windows 8 installation process to help better though.
