    transfer an XP system to a drive containing partitions and data ?


    Is that possible? To transfer an XP system to another drive which though contains (besides enough unallocated space) partitions and data ? How ? ....

    i guess it is. i managed it. cloned the partition over to the unallocated space in the begining of the target drive (that contained only logical paritions) and after marked it as active, boot from Paragon Advanced Tools (or smth) WinPE CD (made from Hard Disk Manager 2011) with only the specific drive pluged, and used a "correcting MBR" and a "correct windows boot" functions it has in there. My guess is that it just applied fixboot & fixmbr commands ? Which is what i tried to do with the XP installation disk first but (as very usual) it was unable to find an XP installation so no Recovery Console either ...
