Windows 7: IE9 to IE8 rollback does not work

This is a good example where with backup imaging you could have swapped in the most recent Win7 with IE8 in 20 minutes, saving a reinstall as that may well be your only option if you are that game for having an older browser version.

My computer graphics card seams to be rolling back its driver updates automatically. i have a radeon 5770, and the only update tht sticks is 8.851.0.0, the newest update driver for my graphics card is 8.902.0.0, why does it always roll back whn i turn my computer on?
