Mac HD into a PC
I took a Mac HD out of a trashed iMac and installed it into my computer. I was able to access my files via MacDrive software and I also was able to reformat the drive to NTFS. The probem is when I delete the MacDrive software (trial version). I cannot see the drive. When I reinstalled MacDrive the drive shows up again. Yes, the drive is being listed as NTFS.
Thanks for any help.

No, I just have a 5 day trial. I really only wanted to use it to get the HD up and running (seeing it to be able to format it). This is done now, but when the expiration expired and I deleted the trail program, the drive became "invisable" again. I have since redownloaded the trial and even though it's expired, as long as I don't dele it, it allows me to use the drive. I don't really want to get the full version as I don't have any other use for it. It seems odd that even though the Mac drive is clearly now formatted as a usable PC drive, it isn't visable without MacDrive.
My ex Mc drive is a 300GB unit. Not really large, but large enough to not want to trash it.
I agree that new huge HDs are a good buy now. It's just that if I can use this one (deicated to pics only) and it's more than enough for me, I'd like to.
Thank you for taking the time for your reply.
