Re-installing Win7 Ultimate x64, but freezes on installation.

Had a virus that caused me to have to reinstall win7, so I made room on my C partition and booted from my win7 CD.

All was fine until it came to the final stage "Completing installation"; at which point it froze. For over an hour. Eventually, I decided to reboot my computer as it was clear nothing was happening. As I expected, there was a disk check, but when I tried booting from the disk again, it freezes before any options come up.

As you can probably tell, I'm a bit of an amateur with computers, but please help!

Why did you not clean the HD Drive first?

The virus/malware stopped me from running exe. files. However I have got past this stage I mentioned above, except now, my computer hangs on the selecting drivers stage, presumably searching for them.

Yes, but I want to keep what is on my other partition, and it says "remove / over-write all existing data".

Please help, it's just hanging on the searching for drivers screen with the green bar going across and across. Shall I restart my computer?

Yes, & clean the HD Drive before reinstalling.

You can format C: only. Make you run your Antivirus on D:.
