And as it turns out she used a less stable flash stick method which crapped out after one Repair attempt so it needs to be run correctly from CD, providing the HD is still with us.
the stick works now. i had to delete all the files on the stick and copy them again.

i'm sorry if i'm a bother ok. i don't mean to trouble anyone. i just really don't know what to do as i've run out of ideas.

Unusual, even damaged hard drives will still show their existence in bios.
Aslong as your not looking at a list of IDE devices instead of SATA devices, which your hard drive will fall into
If you wish to twist my words then fine I'm not going to waste my time. I don't disagree with your method and I acknowledge your experience and high rating of commitment to sevenforums. But like I said, its if she will be able to understand and carry it out. Your attitude towards me is most unhelpful and inappropriate, anyone who loves to twist sentences and point blame seriously needs to get a reality check. You only make your self look stupid in the end.

I wont interrupt you now,

Kelly don't worry, you came here for help and I am sure you will get the problem solved soon. These guys are more experienced than me so I will leave them to it.

Have you run the diagnostic tools?
