Desperately need help here

New here obviously and have a big problem I need help with. So about 2 yrs years ago I got a system unit from Best buy and it has been great up until yesterday. My hard drive completely crashed on me and in the process it deleted the the factory restore partition. Also, I failed to create restore discs (i know i know). So I got a new SSD 80gb to install the OS on and I also got a 320g HDD for files.

Here is the problem, since I didn't make restore disks (with fresh install this wont help anyway?) I have no OS on my system, a new HDD and no install disk. I have a OEM key with a legit copy of Windows 7 Home Premium but I have no way of installing it to my new drive. I need to figure out how I can make an install disk to install it to my new hard drive. I've been googling all day trying to figure it out but I haven't found anyone with my exact situation.

My mother has the same OS as mine (Win 7 Home Premium) on a laptop (no install disk either), is there any way I can take the setup files from her computer, burn it to a disk and install a fresh copy on my new HD?

Keep in mind, I cannot get past my Bios on my old system so any fixes involving Windows 7 don't help me now.

Check this tutorial, which shows you how to clean install Windows 7 using your Certificate Of Activation (COA) OEM Product Key that should be on a sticker attached to the outside of your computer.

Either order the Recovery Disks from manufacturer,m or you'll need to borrow or otherwise find a Win7 installation DVD ISO for your version, or unlock all versions in any retail DVD ISO before burning or writing to stick. It's all here: Reinstalling Windows 7

If forced to download from the internet, seach for official Win7 ISO downloads from My Digital Life, so you don't get anything sketchy.

Thank you for the fast response. I'm diving into that right now. I figured it would be helpful if I add that I did get a copy of the windows 7 restore disk and I can access cmd but I can't use the restore options because there are no OS's detected.

Are you saying you have a System Repair Disk?

You would need to have a Win7 backup image saved to use the Recover Using an Image function.

Yes I was able to get a copy of the restore disk and burned it to a cd. That only problem with that is that it only really allows me to run command because the restore features are useless to me with no OS. I've downloaded my iso from digital life and i made a bootable thumb drive with it. I was able to boot and start the install, however, it stopped expanding files at 75% and I got error code 0x800705d. From what I gather it means the media on the USB is bad? I was working with a legacy PC earlier so my hands were tied a little, now I got my hands on a laptop and I'm going to make a DVD with the iso file instead of booting from USB. Hopefully it works.

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

I burned the iso to a dvd but I keep getting to the install screen where it is expanding windows files and it always just stops around 23%. I get different errors each time : 0x80070002, 0x800705d, oxc000009m ox80300001. They either say its having trouble with I/O device or cant find files....

This is really kicking my but here...

Confirm the ISO integrity (or download another) then burn to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed with Verify, or write to flash stick using Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3,
boot under USB, Removable or HD.

If install still fails, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While In BIOS setup, set SATA contoller to AHCI to try install. Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

Tried reseting Bios with no luck. I tried unplugging almost everything inside minus the mobo. Tried taking out ram, putting it in different slots.. Switched around sata cables (all of these were supposed fixs or partial fixes that I came across) which didn't work. I'm downloading the new ISO now to find out if that works. The main error codes I'm getting are I/O errors or cant read files errors.

I tried to go into cmd and clean the disk but that didn't work, furthermore, when that did fail and I checked diskpart > list disk -- the HD doesn't show up (only after a failed clean, format partition, install etc) but after I reset and unplug cables, plug them back in -- it recognizes the HD again. I tried to take out the SSD then install windows on the HDD but I get the same error (I/O device, file read error, cant find installation files etc.)

I'm no expert, obviously, but I'm not computer newb either, but this is kicking my butt.
