I take it that's from booting the recovery DVD? I would still go with running

    bcdboot C:\windows /s C:

The only other thing you may have to do after that is make C:\ the active partition if its not already.
    C:\Windows\system32>bcdboot C:\windows /s C:
    Boot files successfully created.
    C:\Windows\system32>

some how this D:\ which I can not find in diskmgnt, must be the "
    device partition=\Device\HarddiskVolume3".
unhide everything... I can not find any bcd entries like I did when it was N:
if you click d: it says place a CD... but there is no way... tested all CD-DVD drives and it does not accept for D:
    ------------------------
No I'm boot w/o a recovery DVD, I have only 1 OS installed.
I have two options on boot. Windows 7 Ultimate and #2 is Recovery

Could you post a screenshot of your disk configuration from Disk Management please. Also can you go into DISKPART from a command prompt and type:

    DISKPART
    then 'list volume'

    Hi Snuffy,

You will notice the 7 partition is not marked Active.

The 5.74gb partition is the one on that HD marked active.

That {7800ccd4-7c49-11de-bc70-801ac4a4f209} is the winre recovery that should start up automatically if needed ( it only works if bootmgr is functioning properly ).

It is not normally displayed by bcdedit command, only by the addition of /enum all /v.

In your case, when you ran the repair from the dvd, it put the entry back in - this time it shows up with other (recovered) entries at the regular bcdedit command.

You must have the 7 partition marked Active for the repairs I posted earler to be effective.

In Disk Management, right click the 7 partition and select Mark as Active.

If the copying of bootmgr and the Boot folder from F to C and the bcdedit /export C:\Boot\bcd were successful - the only thing you need to do now is mark the 7 partition Active.

Give it a try and see.:)

Ah, yes - the 7 on the other partition fooled me.

That is curious - if the 7 partition is Active, and it is the first HD in Bios boot order ( you unplugged the others to make sure ) - hard to say why it is not now the system partition.

What happens if you try to boot with only the Disk 0 attached?

If i unplug Disk 1 then I can not boot. so should I unplug and then ?
    try Restore w/ DVD?

I've done so many thing in the past week to try and fix this... I forget all that i have tried.

Disk 1 the small partition does not want to be deleted... I'd like to move into a nother part.
not sure when that showed up.

The dvd should be able to fix it - if that is the only HD attached.

Startup repair should do the job.

    Give it a go.

Did you detach the other HD'S when you tried startup repair before?

Will unplug all other HDDs only 1 HDD Disk 0 and 2 DVD's.
usually takes about 1hour to get back. unless restore works.
