There is NO D: shown under dskmgt: that is what stumps me.
It only shows on Desktop as a CD DRive which is FAKE. Yes, I see a unallocated 17MB i'll deal with that later.

Your 100% correct I failed to read

In Windows Explorer, Right click the drive (D) and do properties, click the hardware tab. What does that show?

You need to reinstall NT6 compatible mbr, boot code and bootfiles.

Sounds complicated, just run startup repair by booting the 7 dvd -

select language and keyboard, Next.

When it has foung the installed o/s, click 7 to highlight it , Next , Select Startup Repair.

May take a few runs.

You should then be able to boot into 7, but not XP.

Note : where it says Drive - this needs to be the Active partition ( probably the one 7 is installed on - look in Disk Management to make sure )



Build 7000? - I suggest you d/l and install build 7100 - it lasts a lot longer. After you have installed 7100RC, just follow the instructions using Easybcd to add the ability to boot XP as well as 7100.

If it is not showing in Explorer - have a look in Device Manager.

Click View > Show Hidden Devices - expand DVD/CDRom drives.

See if you can rt click it and uninstall it from there.

all items are correctly shown. top is my MFC - printer
everything else is exactly as shown. on D:

I wonder if D: is the MFC-240C since it has USB and PictBridge Interface. It's showing as a disk drive in the screenshot.

BCD problem

Until I ran diskpart from the DVD on bootup I had never seen D: before.
some of this is 99.8% new to me... only on this thread have i found how to use partially.

Try and unplug the printer and see.
