    xp 32 to win 7 64

wondering if you can tranfer XP 32 files to win 7 64 on internal HD, old computer died but HD still has files, it is plugged into new computer and can read them but cant view or play the music files. Is there a way to transfer them into win 7?

No, if you mean Windows files or programs.

Yes, if you mean your personal files--mp3s, pictures, video, etc.

You have something else going on.

It may be a permissions issue.

I'd start a new thread in the "installation and setup" forum.

Exactly what happens when you click on the file?

Install the Take Ownership Shortcut, rightclick the HD to take ownership. If files still won't open, work your way down through the Explorer tree to take ownership of each parent folder until the file will open.
