How to do a Windows 7 REPAIR install on a Toshiba Laptop?
After having some problems with Windows update and no fixes working, I have decided to perform a repair install on my 64-bit Windows 7 computer. I have read the excellent article about doing repair installs on this site but it does not apply for me since I don't have a Windows 7 disc. My computer came preinstalled with windows 7 (it is a Toshiba laptop) and all I have are four DVDs created from within the computer upon its first startup to clean install windows. I was also prompted to create a fifth DVD that I labelled (don't remember whÿ because I did it 2 years ago) "windows 7 repair disc (windows recovery environment).
That's all I have. How can I perform a REPAIR install in my situation??? What steps should I take??
- By the way I have not installed SP1, that's actually one of the updates that fails.
This thread shows my problem if you must know about it: Windows Update error when installing SP1 code 80070BC9
