    Win7 Installation Issue

I have built a new system.

    Specs

    Asus P8Z68-v LX Mobo
    i5 2400
    8 gigs Corsair Vengence 1600 DDR3 memory
    ATI 6870 Vid card

I removed the partion the formated my HD. Ran install it gets to asking for the serial number then it Blue Screens. I think there is something wrong with the memory but I am not sure. I have tried both sticks in every memory slot and still the same issue.

What should I do next to trouble shoot?

    Thanks for the help!!

Run MemTest if you think it is the memory. Runs at bootup.

Could the fact the memory is 4gig sticks be an issue?

Have you checked the memory listing over at asus? That board does not seem to be memory friendly as in different brands.

What did you mean by this? Are you reusing an existing drive from another computer? Also, what does the BSOD screen say?

If you want to test your memory, don't use memtest - use the more up-to-date memtest86+ instead.

Do you mean, you deleted the uEFI BIOS partition.

In the windows installation screen I went into the HD section and deleted the partition off the HD. I then partitioned the HD from there and formated the disk. That was an attempt to wipe off any data from the HD and yes that HD had Win7 installed on it.

    Did you setup the BIOS?

Did you then reboot without partitioning & formating?

Turned out to be the power supply.
