    Validation Problem

I downloaded and installed Windows 7 RC build 7100 and it seems to work ok, except that when opening notepad or control panel I get an validation message saying my copy is not genuine when I click on the RESOLVE option, I get another error message saying not a microsoft product - Download was from Mircrosoft. Can anyone shed some light on this?

This happens as a result of modifying system files, in particular, watermark removal.

I dont think so. This kind of error happens when someone try to activate the copy by illigal procedure...

Antman is right, there are numerous reports of Watermark Removal tools causing Windows to become non-genuine. The best option is to run Command Prompt as administrator then type SFC /SCANNOW as this will revert all system files to their default state. You should then be able to activate the RC through normal channels.

    Hope this helps :)

    It could be..
But I had removed the watermark many times, never faced this kind of error.

Did you verify the Microsoft "hash" values (SHA1)?
