Think it has to be done through linux. You can grab Boot Repair to repair grub 2.

If you have had enough of Ubunta & want to go back to Windows it will even restore your windows boot file.

It can be done with EasyBCD - Download I will find the proper procedure in a minute. I did this myself years ago and wrote out the procedure for myself so I could do it again if I need to.

Okay, you need menu.lst from the Linux installation, so you may have to repair the grub 2 file. Then backup your menu.lst by putting it on an external drive or e-mailing it to yourself.

Then Repair your Windows 7 startup

In EasyBCD
Add NeoGrub through the NeoGrub tab
Configure NeoGrub through the NeoGrub tab
Open menu.lst with wordpad and copy and paste to the NeoGrub configure file
Go to Manage Bootloader and backup the bootloader settings
Reinstall the Windows 7 Bootloader and Write MBR
Reboot.

Yes, use EasyBCD 2.02 to add the OS on Linux tab as described here: Dual boot Ubuntu-Win7
