1-install xp
2-install win7
3-ubuntu install using wubi
The separate HD's idea is best so you can boot the preferred OS via BIOS instead of using GRUB to boot them. GRUB causes problems with Win7.
Just keep the other HD's unplugged during install.
Or dual boot XP and Win7 on one HD: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP
Then unplug to install Ubuntu to another HD. After install plug back in Dual Boot, set it first to boot in BIOS, boot Ubuntu HD when you want it by using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key at boot.
As your thread starts with your Netbook & goes on to your Brand New iRush.
IMO,I personally would install Windows 7 & Virtualbox, that way you can play with other OS's without mess up your main OS.
Linux - Install on Windows 7 Virtual Machine using VirtualBox
My plan is Linux and Windows XP on my Netbook (upgrade to 2GB RAM, and SSD), then Windows 7 Ultimate on my iRush.
Unless your "netbook" had a drive bay, how then are you proposing to use more than one drive with it? You're not planning on running the OS's from external drives, are you?
And, while you CAN use Wubi to install Ubuntu to a drive other than the one containing Windows, I believe that (1) you have to be running Windows to install using Wubi, and (2) the Wubi "drive" has to be mounted along with the Windows drive -- which begs the first question, again.
