    Thought related to dual boot

This was one weird thing I did a few days back, xD. I was dual booting with windows 7 and windows vista. My brother scolded me to get off Vista from the computer and told me dual booting is sometimes “harmful” which I’m not sure about. So what I did was, logged in windows 7 and typed MS config in start. Went to the boot tab and deleted the vista option, restarted and windows directly loaded to 7. Then later I just formatted the drive. So the thing is I wonder how it loaded me to windows 7 without saying the boot mbr is missing..and I can’t remember if I installed vista first or 7 first. I guess I installed 7 first - not sure :e. what do you guys think? PS I posted this thread cause I see many people posting the same thread about the bootmgr going missing…. Feel free to post any opinions thanks :)

I'm pretty sure you installed 7 last. It restablished the boot partition and manager. When you deleted Vista, all you did was just that - you left the Boot partition intact, with the manager.

If you'll post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, we can look it over for you to make sure everything is correct now.

If the Windows 7 boot files were missing you'd have problems booting your computer.

The fact you don't suggests they are not.

However, post the screenshot that gregrocker asked for so that we can confirm everything is OK.

Looks strange but flags are set correctly.

Remember that the boot partition way over in the middle contains your System boot files for Win7, until they are moved into the Win7 partition.

Because the System Reserved partition is normally the first one on the drive followed by the Windows C partition.
