    windows could not prepare the computer next phase of installation_SCSI


    i trying to install windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit on Adaptec aha-2940 U\UW SCSI Bios
    Windows installation to the stage (installing updates) will continue
    But when the stage (complete Windows installation) is the following message appears: ''windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation.to install windows restart the installation"


    Maxtor Atlas 10k5 73GB @ Adaptec Aha 2940 U\UW SCSI BIOS

    Try not pointing to the driver as Win7 may have its own driver - this is not XP.

    Does the HD show up at install?

    Are you in a RAID config? Try with one HD with SATA controller set to AHCI.

    Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

    Reset the BIOS to defaults.

    Try wiping the HD: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

    hi ,
    i do not use Raid
    Disconnect the device and reset the BIOS did not solve the problem.

    Wipe the HD: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

    I would also test the HD using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan, which should also have a wipe function on it's Menu to use after testing.

    Best to test the RAM to clear it, too: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    If install continues to fail, remove all but 2gb RAM to try install, then swap RAM sticks.
