    Unable to install Windows 7 Home update to Windows Starter


    I bought Home Premium 32 bit update (at Office Max) to install on my ASUS 1015 PEM Notebook (upgrading Windows Starter). I'm not having much luck. The program loads, but then stalls at a screen that says something like "Windows compatibility file (on desktop)". It goes no further. Any help?

    Try using Anytime upgrade.

    No install files needed.
    Only the Upgrade key is need.
    Anytime upgrade only adds-on the Programs & Features from version to version.

AS I said in the title, I am having problems installing windows updates. I have reformatted 3 times and get the same errors at the same spot. I ran SURT and then tried to update, but it still didn't work. Here are the files I believe you need to help me. Thank you.
So I have an old Sony laptop, and it came with Win 7 Starter. It got slow and bogged, so I installed Win 7 from scratch from instructions here, and when I went to enter the product key from the bottom of the laptop of course I got the "The product key you have entered will not work with this...
I'm having trouble updating to service pack 1 in Win 7 x64 Home Pre by Dell OEM. There is another post that the problem can be solved using the log file so I have tried using the Readiness Tool and the log is as followed:
