Can I make a bootmanager to recover factory reset on asus laptop?

The AI recovery does not recognise the partition where the recovery files are despite me being able to see it. I can't burn the files to make a backup dvd. I tried this on my U46SV but does not work:
AI Recovery Burner says "Partition does not exist"

Also tried the F9 key for HD boot but I do not see the Windows 7 [EMS] option. Everytime when I start W7, I get the pop-up telling me to make the restore DVD. When I open the software, I can't click start. There is no option for a DVD writer (the option is blank) for AI recovery ver 1.014. It also says it could not detect the partition though I can clearly see the partition in my computer. With AI recovery ver 1.013 I can select the DVD-writer, but the software still fails to see the recovery partition.

I'm now thinking of making a manual boot manager and try a factory reset with the HD partition. Is this possible? Can I make a boot manager with the files below? I can only find the bootmgr file but not the other files when looking at this tutorial: BCDEDIT - How to Use
How do I go about doing this? I've included a SS of the files in the recovery partition

    I found this website: http://rmencia.wordpress.com/2010/07...-1/#comment-85

with the same problem. In step no. 2: “Get the required files for the boot DVD (boot image with standard MS tools)
    2. copype.cmd x86 d:\winpe_x86″
The WIn AIK says copye.cmd is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Does anyone know where am I going wrong?

That one does not work. I've resorted to this way:
AI Recovery Burner says "Partition does not exist"

At the end of the vodeo, it is stated, if you have problems call Asus Support.
What did Asus Support have to say?

From the Asus forums and from searching online, Asus has poor customer support.
I learnt Windows AIK because of my new ASUS Laptop « Roberto Mencia's blog

I would call Asus support, & ask for a set of Recovery Disks, as the A1 Recovery app has a problem there should FREE.
You can Order Asus recovery disks from here:
    ASUS eStore
At the search box, type in RECOVERY

Which partition in Disk Mgmt is System Active now?

Sometimes marking the Recovery partition Active will reboot into Factory Recovery.

Have your System Repair CD ready in case you need to boot into it to mark Win7 Active again using Diskpart: Partition - Mark as Active (Method Two)

The OP is not trying to do a reinstall, but trying to make Asus Recovery Disks.

OP may need to recover to Factory Condition to get back full functionality of Recovery Manager.

It isn't necessary to create a boot manager entry until you try marking the Recov partition Active to see if it will run first.

If this fails then it's sometimes possible to boot Recovery using a boot disk like Hiren's with bootable EasyBCD on it, or configure a boot manager using EasyBCD from Windows.

Asus know they have a problem with the Recovery Partition & A1 Recovery app.
