    Clean Install or Upgrade?

Ok, now that Windows 7 is out "officially" who do you guys think?

I installed fine using Upgrade from Vista SP2 Ultimate. Everything worked fine without any new driver install. All my programs worked right away.

I like the system, I like the speed. So I keep asking myself will it be better if I install again in a "clean install" way?

What's your opinion, what's better? And what you did?

I plan on doing a clean install when I receive my pre order disc in Oct. I think that if you are happy with the operation of the OS, you should not fix it if it is not broken. As time passes and you find that you experience problems, such as programs not working, freezing or slowness, you can always try the clean install. The usual problem with an upgrade is that some of your programs refuse to work properly.

2 clean installs....and boy it sucked :) Let me explain.

    My disk set up is

    C - 320G was Vista
    D - 320G Data

So I decided to partition c in half and install 7 on it and migrate slowly...so I ended up with:

    C - 160G - Vista
    D - 320G - Data
    E - 160G - Windows7

after getting everything how I liked it, I decided I no longer needed Vista, and would blow away C, extend E (which was created by partitioning C) and then rename C to E

It just got ugly after that............fineally decided to say screw this, , clean install on C, life is now good. OS install was cake, drivers went on with no issue, well, amost, my Xfire still isnt working, but I am hoping ASUS gets their act together and gets a fix.

Clean Install, but only to wipe my current Windows 7 RC Build 7100 installation. I liked 7 so much after trying the BETA Build 7000 in January, I wiped Vista (NOT because I didn't like Vista) from my system and have been using Windows 7 since then.

I clean installed the RC build, but it's been upgrades ever since. And I'm very happy with the way everything is working.

I did have to reinstall a few of my security apps, a driver or two, to iron out a few kinks, but it was pretty easy. Much easier than doing a clean install and all that that entails. I figured I'd give it a try and if I wasn't satisfied than I could always do a clean install. So far, haven't felt the need to. YMMV though.
