Recovery Disc usage for Window 7 64 bit

Hi
I have a Sony Vaio laptop model# VPCEB16FG.
Operating system is Window 7 64 Bit.
Window was crashed some how and tried following thing to recover but it didn't work.
1) Start up repair
2) tried to set the default factory setting.

I have a recovery discs which was created when i bought the laptop. I tried to insert the recovery disc in Disc Drive and restart the computer but it didn't detect, then i thought i need to change the BIOS boot setting to CD/DVD, but not sure how to do that, please find the attach screen for this, it will be great if you can tell me what change need to be done in BIOS setting so that i am able to boot through the recovery disc and resume the window 7 installation.

Thanks a lot for your help and assistance.

Samar

BIOS Boot Order appears to be set correctly with OD set to boot first.

When you put the disk in the drive are you getting prompt to "Press Any Key to Boot Disk?"

When you boot into System Recovery Options does it find an installation to Repair? Offer a Repair? If you choose Startup Repair, what does it report? Try also System Restore from options list.

Google your model number User manual to see if there's a way to run Recovery Partition from boot, which is a more stable way to Recovery in most cases.

Do you have access to a Windows 7 installation DVD? Another option is to clean reinstall with the Product Key on COA sticker, following these steps: Reinstalling Windows 7

I am not getting any prompt while putting disk in the drive.
After doing the start up repair it give me a message that repair was not successful.
I will try to find the user manual for my model#.
My one of friend has a Window 7 installation DVD, can i use this DVD with the product key specify at the back of my laptop on COA (Certificate of Authencity) sticker, please suggest if there is any limitation associated with the use.

Thanks for your help and suggestion.

Samar

The Windows 7 installation DVD needs to be the same version or else you can unlock all versions by extracting the ISO (image) file from the DVD using ImgBurn, then run the ei.cfg tool on the ISO to unlock all version, burn another DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed. All the steps are here: Reinstalling Windows 7

You can also use the DVD to attempt Startup Repair since your disk is apparently not bootable or it would prompt you to Press Any Key.

You can also use the DVD to copy out any stranded files: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
