Problems with 64-bit W7 after anytime upgrade from Home Premium to Pro

After I got the anytime upgrade from Home Premium 64 bit to Pro I am having problems. W7 will occasionaly hang on boot up and I have to pull the plug to get it to reboot. It will not recognize my Android phone in the USB ports and I have to use a different computer to copy stuff to the Android. I only have the upgrade DVDs for W7 Home Premium, so I installed it using the "install twice" trick. I guess my question is: Should I reinstall it using the new CD key I got when I paid for the anytime upgrade? Or should I install it with the original key and then do the anytime upgrade again? Should I wipe the SSD drive clean and start over doing the "install twice"? If I do that, should I use the upgrade key or the original one? Should I forget about the pro version and just stick with the home premium? My Home premium version is the family pack upgrade that lets you install on 3 computers. However, to license it, it wouldn't let me do it unless I said
"one" when the recording asked me how many computers. Crazy.

I do have the W7 home premium upgrade. But I upgraded from XP. I have the full version of XP. But I didn't want to install it first on the new HD, then upgrade it to W7. So I did the clean install like the instructions. Install first without the CD key, then run the upgrade on top of that. Later, I paid for the "anytime upgrade" to W7 Professional. Now I want to reinstall, but my question is should I reinstall home premium first and then upgrade to professional again, or will it work if I install the whole thing using the CD key I paid for to upgrade to professional. I think it should work. Or do you think I'm going to install XP and then go thru all the upgrades?????? I've been messing with computers since the DOS 3.2 days.
I'm not illegal, so don't judge me, OK?

Next time capture Win7 backup images of both Home Premium and Pro after they're set up and running best. This is the modern way to handle reinstalls - reimage the HD or replacement in 20 minutes from backup image.

Boot the Home Premium installer, it will see an OS and allow use of UPgrade version key upfront. If not leave the Product Key blank until after install and do the quick registry workaround which takes 5 minutes: Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

I'd use a Home Premium installer with SP1 to avoid hours of Updates: Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1 English Official ISO download

What I've never tried is to clean reinstall with the Pro Anytime key but I don't think it would work. If it's a Win7 upgrade or full key which you only inserted into Anytime Upgrade for convenience then, yes, you should use a Pro installer, and can even try Pro with the Anytime key to let us know if it works - by unlocking all versions in the Home Premiium ISO: Unlock any version eicfg removal tool
