ASUS MoBo will not boot on SSD drive on new build

I have just completed a new build. On first switch on the BIOS loaded & I received the message 'Re-boot & Select proper boot device'.

    I can't get past this.

The build has a SSD drive only, the onboard graphics is being used for now, I have not yet connected a CD'DVD drive & no other drives.

I have initialised the drive in another PC but that has not resolved the issue.

All components are new, has anyone had a similar problem, it's got me puzzled?

    Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN 3
    Intel i5 2500K 3,3 Ghz 1155
    Corsair Vengence memory 16GB
    Corsair 60GB Force 3A SSD SATAiii 6Gb/s

    Any help would be appreciated.

As the new MOBO's now have a uEFI BIOS.

Is the drive detected in BIOS?
Is said drive set as first boot device in BIOS?
Is windows installed to said drive?
If no you will have to boot to your install media.

After alphanumeric's suggestions, do you have a bootable device attached, such as a USB flash drive to install Windows 7? If the drive is blank (as it should be), and you have no optical drive, the computer may be trying to find something bootable and failing.

Set the DVD drive first to boot.

    Then Clean Install Windows 7

Thanks to everyone, I will try the suggestions today & see if it solves the problem.

I didn't realise that the MoBo was set to AHCI mode by default!

    Cheers
