Is there a legal and safe Vista ISO/download available like Win7?

I know this is a W7 forum, so I hope it is ok to ask this. It's the old story of I have a legit serial number for Vista, but the installation disc is nowhere about. Is there a download file like the Windows 7 one?

Rather than create a boot disc. Can the exe file when opened from in XP perform an upgrade install?

Mmmmaybe, I haven't seen what the EXE extracts. Probably an ISO (But you can install an ISO mounter and run it from there)

HOWEVER. Things will be a lot easier and safer if you just burn a DVD or make a bootable USB drive and install it that way...

Also, just to be safe, always disconnect all hard drives but the one drive you want to install to and boot from before doing the install. This'll prevent the boot files from accidentally being installed on the wrong drive or other potential install headaches.

Thanks for the reply. Well, I actually did install Vista as an upgrade with that file in XP and as far as I can tell it worked ok. Hopefully time will tell the same story. :)
