Can I install Windows on my slave drive?

I have two hard drives one 40gb(IDE) and a 2tb(SATA).
I have my 32bit OS installed on the 40gig and all my data on my 2tb. Now I recently got more ram and now need to install 64bit.

My question is can I install the 64 bit on my 2tb and have a dual boot.

I'm installing Windows using a setup that I Downloaded that has a few tweeks added in so no disc to install from just a setup file.

May I ask what has been added to Win7 you are using? Do you have a link so we can see?

How is this modded Win7 being activated?

Win7 is installed correctly from booted media. I would unplug the other HD during install.

Its Windows 7 Nvidia. Its not pre activated. There are to many changes to list and I don't have the link on hand as I am using my phone. The way I was planning to install it would be to run the setup while windows in running and install it on my slave drive. Or would this cause problems?

If Win7 installer is run from another OS it will not claim C when booted. If you want it on another letter then that's OK but it's best to have bootable media for rescue purposes - if not be sure to make a System Repair Disk.

Since it's not preactivated how are you activating Win7 Nvidia? I notice others are asking the same thing on the Youtube demo of it.

In view of the change list, it looks like something to be avoided at all costs.

    Firefox 3.5?!?
    255 sidebar gadgets installed?
System Files are boosted upto maximum Performance?!?
    (and on and on)

That seems like a pretty mashed up set of someone else's software choices and configuration :/ Most of it you'll probably never want or use and nothing you can't just add to your own clean install OS if you wanted. You are right to not want to overwrite your current install with it! In fact I wouldn;t touch it with anything other than a VM...

The LAST thing I would want to do is start out with an OS image that looked like someone had done 2 years worth of "tweaking" on it which really means "Is probably barely stable at all" and "completely full of stuff I'll never use".

Not to mention the quasi-legality of it. (Legal for you to activate with your own code, but almost certainly illegal for the person to be distributing, therefore you are DLing potentially illegal distributions)

[Edit] ok I was typing that before your last reply... I'll leave the text but er.. never mind, if it's working for you... [/edit]

That my be true but it is my personal preference and all I'm asking is if it can be installed to a seperate HDD while the OS is running.
