Why won't this photoshop installation work?

I try to install this Adobe Photoshop but it appears as a image format instead of a download. So I went and found the setup.exe. and tried to run as administrator and this is what shows up every time.

You are attempting to run an incompatible version. Your specs say you are 64 bit are you trying to install the 64 bit windows version?

Have you trieed the download again?

In addition to zigzag's advice, where are you downloading from?

Is it the full version or a trial version?

Looking at the files' date (1998s). I think it's incompatible due to it's old version. You may try install starting from the first CS version (2003s) up to the latest version (CS5).
I assume you're on Windows 7.

Hope I'm right.

I think Kevin's got it.

Earlier versions of Photoshop (7.0 and before I think) have 16-bit installers that will not run on a 64-bit OS. You need a "CS" series of Photoshop to avoid 16-bit installers.

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit

Well spotted Kevin.

It's probably Photoshop 7, which if so means it won't install. This means that although the application is a 32-bit application, the installer is compiled with 16-bit code, which means it won't install to a 64-bit version of Windows.

The other alternative is to install XP Mode under Virtual PC.
