Thanks for any and all help.
I haven't done this, but I believe that you could could acquire a copy of a Windows 7 installation disk. Convert it to a generic installer by removal of the type ID (
Ei.cfg Removal Utility Lets You Use Any Product Key With Your Windows 7 Disc). Use the OEM license key from the sticker on the PC. This isn't a recipe for the process, but it should enable you to find the details.
If you don't have access to a copy of a Windows 7 installation DVD, there are legitimate download of the .iso files for the available for download. It may still be considered unacceptable to post links, but a little searching will discover them (mydigitallife).
There's some labor involved in this, but I suggest it as an alternative to buying a redundant Windows 7 license.
