    ok maifs,

if u hav decided to boot from a dvd then u burn d bootable iso file using any burning wizard like nero etc. just double click d iso file or open it with dat particular disk burning software n burn it by pressing/clicking d burn option.

now after d burning is completed u restart ur pc n open ur bios
now go to boot priority or boot setup options n then select ur dvd rom/writer to be d first boot device n ur hard drive to be d second boot devise n then after saving all this settings in ur bios see whether any boot is going on or not frm d hard drive.

if it doesn't work then change ur bios settings to d default n then see whether u got any solution or not.
    plz reply

    change the order from

    IDE-0
    CD/DVD-0

    to

    CD/DVD-0
    IDE-0

also, make sure jumper settings are correct on all of your IDE devices.

so it's an external DVD drive?

You need to select the external DVD drive as the first boot device. Can't you see an option to change the boot order when you turn on your PC? Most of my PCs and laptops have this option...
