    BSOD on installation

I've been trying to install Windows 7 64bit RC1, but towards the beginning of the installation I always get a BSOD with this message:

    MULTIPROCESSOR_CONFIGURATION_NOT_SUPPORTED

I have an E8600 with an Abit XI38 Quad GT Speedster motherboard

Is this a known problem? Are there any work arounds?

Can you safe boot into it? If so goto c:\windows\minidump. zip the dump file and upload so it can be de-bugged

It sounds like the installer sees the two cores as being two different cpus'

You could try this: Go into the BIOS, disable one core, and then install. After 7 installs, then re-enable the second core. If it BSOD's after the second core is re-enabled, then disable it again and update the BIOS.

I've just discovered I already have the latest bios (14) :s It was released well over a year ago.

I've heard rumours ABIT are going down the pan, so maybe I'll never get windows 7 to work with this motherboard.
